Beetle juice

Tried something a little different and drew a stag beetle... I'm actually really happy with the outcome. 

Finished

Finished this up last night, and I'm quite happy with it. Drawing all the time is really starting to work... 

Lining

Just finished the dots on the top drawing, quite happy with the outcome. Also started to line out another stag's head. 

I'm back

Had my sister stay for a few days so i've been neglecting my work... now i've kicked her out its back to drawing. These are two illustrations from my personal choice sketchbook. 

Terrarium No. 1

Made a Start on my Personal Choice sketchbook. Leading on from the last post, I think I'm going to try some terrarium shapes and see what happens. So that's 3 book on the go now so I have no excuse for being bored of one and doing nowt.  

Personal Choice

I have to start considering what I want to do for my two personal choice sketchbooks. Coming from textiles, interiors still hold a lot of interest for me and recently I have seen the terrarium trend a lot, especially geometric glass vases. I feel that this is some thing that I may want to explore... I have tried it before and really enjoyed adding some quirkyness to it. 

  

I think I'll begin to explore the shapes that I could use with doing this and potentially use this as an idea for one of my sketchbooks... the other is yet to be decided. 

Landscape update

Popped to Seaton Beach the other day and got some drawing done. I actually really enjoy the wishy washy effect that the water colours give me.
